About Sophie Arnaud

More information about Sophie:

Sophie Arnuad

After a childhood in Vendée (France), knitting, quilting, embroidering, painting etc, I finally found my passion : making my own clothes.

After a french General Baccalaureate, I decided to take fashion and clothes making courses.

I graduated from three different fashion schools from Toulouse to Paris, and became a pattern maker and technical designer.  (School of Technology in Toulouse, Chambre syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and School of Technology in Nîmes. )

In 2017, my fiance had a job opportunity in Singapore. After many years of experience in the fashion industry (ready to wear (Notify), lingerie ( Etam), kids wear ( Sergent Major, Natalys Du Pareil au Même) and sportwear ( Bodynits)), I decided to stand on my own two feet: creating my company of sewing courses and pattern edition.

Thanks to my own experiences, I pass on my knowledge using simple methods, my personal tips, and professional skills. I would like my students to be motivated coming to the workshops, so I let them choose their project ( clothes or accessories). Every end of project is so rewarding for them: they imagine it, they work hard on it and finally, they do it.

I prepare the work alone; creating the patterns after discussing them with the students, and looking for the fabrics and the accessories according to their needs.

Sewing is for me a relaxing moment; your mind is empty, and only concentrated on your work.  My willingness is to create a “zero stress” moment while learning something new.

They changed the name this year and now it is Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
